With a 12. 1 MP sensor, you can capture every scene in incredible detail – print up to A2 size, or crop to achieve the desired composition without losing the detail necessary for larger prints. A 4x optical zoom allows for a wide choice of framing options. Canon’s optical Image Stabilizer keeps images sharp by reducing the effects of camera shake throughout the zoom range. Smart Auto mode uses intelligent Scene Detection Technology to determine subject brightness, contrast, distance and overall hue. The camera then selects the most appropriate scene mode from a total of 18 to obtain perfect settings for the scene. Easy mode ensures correct camera usage by deactivating all buttons except those used for shooting. A suite of Face Detection technologies detects up to 35 faces in a shot, adjusting focus, exposure, flash settings and white balance – for optimal results with natural-looking skin tones. Face Select & Track allows a single face in a crowd to be selected and tracked as the main subject. FaceSelf-Timer takes a shot when an extra face is detected in the frame – making group photos easy. Motion Detection Technology uses a range of advanced methods to ascertain movement of both camera and subject, plus the speed at which this motion occurs. The optimum ISO is then automatically set for any situation. Face Detection Technology is used to accurately detect and remove the red-eye effect caused by flash photography. This function can be performed automatically by the camera or manually in playback. Canon’s DIGIC 4 processor drives responsive operation, superb image quality and colour reproduction. Easy to use. Automatic exposure adjustment for many different lighting conditions was excellent – much better than my older Nikon Coolpix camera.
Clarity and sharpness of the pictures is very good and the color is strong and realistic (I have had cameras where the color always looks a little faded or washed out – the Canon A1100 had no such problems).
I especially chose a camera to take AA batteries as these are available everywhere and easy to carry a spare set – my old camera had its own special battery and this was good but I needed a power supply to re-charge it and could not take pictures whilst it was charging. I would recommend getting some re-chargeable Lithium AA batteries as regular Alkaline batteries do not last long (only about 30-40 shots).
This camera has a viewfinder. This was another reason for choosing this camera. Having the viewfinder is important as in very bright conditions (like hot sunny holidays) it can sometimes be difficult to see the display.
Unless you are an avid photographer looking for lots of photographic capabilities or you are looking for some specific features not on this camera I would not spend any more money on more expensive models.
It may not be as stylish as some other cameras but when it spends most of it’s life in your bag who cares.
Unless having a super slim camera is important I do not think the slightly larger size should put you off (Note – the online images do make the darker grey left hand side look very bulky but in reality it is not at all. It actually makes the camera easier to hold steady – esp if your hands are on the large side or perhaps you have difficulty holding small things#.
The supplied SD card is a little mean in my view – just 128Mb. Not much capacity for pictures and if you want to do any videos you will certainly need a bigger card – 4GB will be plenty for most users and these are only about £5-6 now.
The lack of a case is also a little dissapointing but on the plus side I was able to choose something that I wanted rather than what was given – cases vary in price from about £5 upwards – a reasonable one can be had for under £10.
The software that comes with it is easy to use and install. This included a neat tool that allows you to join #stitch# together multiple shots #eg 5 shots across a panorama or 4 shots rising up a tall building (no way could you get the Eiffel Tower otherwise
)

The 12 megapixels is a good upgrade to my previous Sureshot of 5. 4 mp. I have made some good quality stills and movies which still look good when viewed on my 28″ plasma TV. Its easy to use small enough to fit in the pocket comfortably. it has a wide setting which is great for landscapes,seascapes or large groups of people. It has a viewfinder which I find essential because I can use it to take pictures without needing to put on reading glasses. I am pleased with it.

Аз закупили този фотоапарат, защото има оптичен veiwfinder. В тази камера, която замества имаше само LCD дисплей, и аз просто не можеше да вижда изображението върху ярки слънчеви дни. Способността да изключите LCD панел на Powershot също е значително удължен живот на батерията в сравнение със стария си фотоапарат. Излишно е да казвам, то също се отлични снимки и се оказа много лесен за използване. А много малка камера!.

this is the perfect camera for the amateur, who does not want to spend a fortune on features that are meaningless and most important (and usual)that he/she will never use. Simultaneously, with this camera you make little or no compromise on picture quality, as 12. 1 mpixels are more than enough for the everyday photo activities. There are also a lot of additional features, all these from a well-known brand name at a very reasonable price. What else to expect?

Позовавам се джоб размер камери с оглед FINDERS. Hoorah има още една там! Не повече кривогледство и снимка предполагам в силна слънчева светлина! Едно, че се достойни снимки също, макар и не толкова впечатляващи при натискане при слаба светлина, но честно мога да живея с това, че като цифра в момента не много в моята фотографски изисквания и имам друга камера, която ще направи това само глоба. Има и други изготвя подкрепя също, непрекъснато честотата на кадрите е ниско към 1. 1 кадъра в секунда отново не, изтощаващи, но е под заглавие “може да направи по-добре”. Какво го прави по-добре е да седнете в ръка лесно се побират в джоба, без шум, да правят снимки по най-осветление условия, който ще застане някой сериозен взривява. Тя има приятен цвят баланс в моите очи, а сега е слязъл в цената на по-разумно ниво – Аз не мисля, че е оправдано пускането му цена, макар че вероятно има повече общо с относителните предимства на йената и лирата като много други японски продукти, изведнъж пое една твърде скъпо на въздуха. Ако аз бях за намаляване на това твърдение би било да се отбележи, че камерата включва много технологии, част от него, като движението стабилизиране на образа и откриване на лицето, действително полезни.
За обща цел, точка и стрелям фотоапарат това сега е голям пазар. Фактът, че тя има визьор също е черешката на тортата, под 90% от условия, аз не мисля, че това ще се намери по някакъв начин искат. За останалите 10% вие вероятно ще се нуждаят от различен вид камера или иначе – и един Canon!
